An epic triathlon challenge on Lanzarote
This grueling competition, consisting of a 3.8 km swim, 180 km bike ride, and a full marathon of 42.2 km, is known as one of the toughest triathlons in the world.
Months of preparation and SUPERP teamwork
Ivo's journey began six months ago when he decided to take on this enormous challenge. Under the guidance of our iamSUPERP member and experienced triathlete Olaf van den Bergh, Ivo started an intensive training program. For months, his life revolved around swimming, cycling, running, and proper nutrition.
Ivo: "It was a huge task to combine the training schedule with my work as a developer at SUPERP. But Olaf's guidance was indispensable. He constantly adjusted my schedule based on my progress and personal situation and helped me prepare mentally."
14.5 hours of suffering for an unforgettable finish
After 14.5 hours of suffering, Ivo finally crossed the finish line. "It was an indescribable experience," he says. "When I was running those last kilometers and all those spectators were cheering me on, I really realized what a special achievement this was. Everything I had trained for over months came together at that moment."
The triathlon mentality: Anything is possible
Ivo's achievement shows that with the right mindset, dedication, and support, anything is possible. He has proven that you can push your limits if you believe in yourself and are willing to work hard for it. An inspiring example for all his colleagues at SUPERP!
