Last year, we mainly saw plans and concepts. This year, the applications were concrete. SAP demonstrates how data and AI come together across its entire product range. Not only for business users, but also for developers and consultants.

Our key insights
- Data as a foundation – SAP HANA Cloud and SAP Business Data Cloud form the basis for AI applications. The new partnership with Snowflake fits in perfectly with this. The starting point: every organization is a data-driven organization.
- SAP RPT-1: the first foundation model for business data – SAP developed a model specifically for structured business data. Tables, relationships, and business data can be worked on directly without major customization processes. This model performs better in an SAP context than generic LLMs.
- SAP ABAP-1: AI for ABAP development – A large language model for ABAP development. You write modern ABAP code based on intent.
- SAP Build is becoming more powerful – SAP Build now bundles everything for SAP development and extensibility: ABAP Cloud, SAPUI5, CAP, and SAP Fiori. With Joule Agents and Joule Agent Builder, you can quickly deploy AI. Work in pro-code or low-code. Let agents communicate via A2A (agent to agent) or use external tools via MCP (Model Context Protocol). You build smart automated processes within the SAP ecosystem, in the tools you already use every day. In addition, there are 500+ prebuilt solutions ready for Finance, HCM, supply chain, and more.
- AI for Europe – AI that complies with European standards for data sovereignty, privacy, and compliance.
- Open developer ecosystem – ABAP is coming to Visual Studio Code. Soon, you will be able to develop within SAP in a single, uniform IDE. Various sessions confirmed that SAP is also bringing tooling from SAP Build Code to VS Code. Multiple IDEs mean more freedom of choice for developers.
- Improvements for CAP – Cloud Application Programming Model is getting concrete updates that improve the developer experience: new developer tooling via CAP console, expansion of CAP-level Service Integrations (Calesi) with smart BDC integration, and Model Context Protocol Servers for CAP, UI5, and Fiori development. This gives AI the right context and tools for efficient development.
